On Sunday, Pastor George Leathrum will be preaching and his sermon title sure sounds intriguing – “Be Careful Who You Invite to Dinner.” Sounds like a sermon you don’t want to miss! Another highlight of the service will be hearing the music of Bill Graham and his mother! I had the privilege of sitting in front of Bill’s mother once during a worship service and she has a lovely voice – as does Bill! Something else you don’t want to miss hearing!
As you probably know, school starts next week, so on Monday morning, we’re going to be offering “Drive Through Prayer” in our parking lot from 7 – 9 a.m. Lots of you have signed up to help by baking cookies, holding directional signs, or praying, but if you didn’t get to sign up and want to help – come on over to the church on Monday around 6:30 a.m. The more help we have, the more people we can serve!
Speaking of serving people – we’re still looking for mentors to work with children at Thomson Estates Elementary School this year. If you have an hour a week to give to a child, or even if you just would like to know more about it, get in touch with Nancy Mitchell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’re still taking sign-ups for the Classic Christians’ bus trip to Baltimore on Wednesday, October 19th. The trip includes a luncheon cruise on The Spirit of Baltimore and an afternoon tour of Fort McHenry. Cost is $90/person. To take part, sign up on the sheet across from the Welcome Center.
Finally, just a reminder that there’s going to be a Revival tomorrow evening at 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Elkton Presbyterian Church. Christians from throughout Elkton will come together for this service led by Elkton Police Chaplain Josh Leffew.
